well good morning, it’s saturday already, yep that meerkat moment from wednesday till now was quite the jump right? crazy, the weather changes from hot days to full on rain, woke up to rain and instantly thought oh my god i’ve gotta go out in this today, still, that’s the breaks — what with inactive volcanos in russia now being active again and a 50% chance of it popping, i’d take rain over ash clouds anyday, this spinning rock is always entertaining right! you have to literally run with it everyday! (or are we running against it?)
as per usual i’m here once again this morning writing this out so it’s fresh and out of my mind first thing as i head about my day but i wanted to highlight some people from my feed who i follow who you might have missed! if you are a new #steemian then chances are you are still looking for people to follow and i hope my three years on the platform will help signpost you to the people you should be following!
tokens and coins everywhere
looks like facebook are about to annouce their crypto coin/token soon, maybe in a few weeks which kinda validates this whole little niche as we see it, just think in a few years it could be this common practice of not only paying for work but for actively taking part in communities, it’s not gonna be a bitcoin killer that’s for sure. it’s always gonna have first mover advantage BUT facebook does have a lot of distributed computing server power all across the world, you would probably be foolish not to HODL some of their coin! i just hope the fakebookers stay over there in their perfect bubble! :)
personally i hope (and feel) that we will end up with frontends to our crypto decentralized future that work on the dunbar number — i’d love nothing more to have 150 active people in a group that have similar interests to you that can be ‘flexi’ groups where people come and go but you always follow a maximum!
Dunbar’s number is a suggested cognitive limit to the number of people with whom one can maintain stable social relationships — relationships in which an individual knows who each person is and how each person relates to every other person
that’s my focus moving forward with steem and blockchains in general, to be part of value economies that i fit into that i can frequent and pass through, sidechain like, with custom frontends that fit my lifestyle where i can provide value and share in our collective efforts, i always feel those work best from the start or in the middle rather than something established that’s been around for a long while — i’ve been parts of many internet tribes in my twenty years plus on the internet so i’ve kinda seen it all!
ONWARDS TO DUNBAR BASED COMMUNITIES! MAKE IT SO!
i’m starting to see new people arrive on the steem blockchain too so i’m looking forward to interact with the newbies and share some of my course stuff that i made for steem. i really need to revisit a bunch of it! :)
