Blocks from the Chains — Issue #98
heading to the end of month six of this year and fast approaching #100 of this digest (crazy) — in reflecting back on things in the last few months alone i can see that the work i put in last year really paid of this year which means for the rest of the year i gotta put in work now to have a chance of keeping head above water for next year. i know i focus on that a lot but until i’ve got to that comfortable place where i can take time out to LEARN i’ve gotta keep the basics covered, i’ve got a real push i’ve gotta do for mobility computing power and physical access to transportation, in that electric mobility — that’s my big goal between now and the new year and i’m determined to get away stateside if not once, twice before the year is out (SETTING GOALS!)
did steem inception itself?
the steem blockchain is currently heading into what i see as a massive community shift — we have many tokens, many frontends, many ‘collectives’ that are using the backend infrastructure of the steem network but have splintered or fragtured off into little cliches and collectices — that’s cool, be with the people you know and like and go all in on your tribe, it’s certainly the way of IRC channels from back in the day (i’ll never replace that moment in time btw) everyone wanting to be a MOD in a channel, using different servers that fit with the choices they want — that’s the free market of blockchain, you can decentralize anywhere, from one to many — everything that SMT might bring!
obviously if you’ve been here three years or three minutes the experience is going to be very different for you. legacy is an interesting thing, if you remember how it was and are precious about it then moves and swings are probably going to rock your opinions, if you just arrived, you’ll not know until you are two feet deep into it — at times the blockchain can feel very ‘inception’ with a token inside of a theme, inside a reality.
the duck tales of stacking tokens
one side effects of smart media tokens that i did not realise is the amount of them you would end up have ‘floating’ around in wallets — in one space, one size fits all exchange, wallets, over here and over there. i’m barely keeping up with my physical space let alone having hundreds of debris of tokens to concern myself with — eventually they will just be ‘standard’ and you’ll earn them for interactions with whatever frontend or network niche you are working with — heck i see a time where you can atomically swap them as you need too with AI ‘suggestive’ browser apps for access, airbnb’s, transportation — your involvement in the world will allow you to unlock elements around you and in the process interactions.
what’s gonna be your next kick?
in the film ‘inception’ the way they wake up from a dream is via a ‘kick’ — it could be a picture, sound, out of place object that makes you realise you are inside of a dream, layers down inside of someone elses dream. my personal steem kick was when steemit laid of 70% of the team and showed that they have nobody at the helm steering the ship it was just on pumped up crypto prices freeplay until things started to drop, just a big experiment.
now we have alternatives (that still really on the core operation of the steem blockchain btw) which people have put together for progress, momentum, to take back some governance they consider they deserve or to make sure their HODL bag of the last three years is worth it. i get that. but it does’nt mean i have to go in one someone else incepted reality of a fragmented mind.
with crypto that’s the wonderful thing, you can get your kicks on additional places than just route 66, choose your reality wisely.
